How trials, cancellations, subscriptions and AI credits work. Site owners and template developers each have their own section below.
Last updated 28 August 2026
This policy applies to subscriptions and AI credits purchased from Builder Hut. It does not apply to purchases your customers make on a site you publish — those are between you and them.
Every account includes a permanent free plan. No payment details are needed and nothing is charged on it. You can evaluate Builder Hut on the free plan for as long as you like before paying anything — there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.
Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance. The price, the currency and the period are shown before you confirm. We do not offer annual billing.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
If a period lapses unpaid, your subscription enters a grace period before it is suspended.
Cancel from the billing area of your account at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and your sites keep being served until then. Afterwards your account returns to the free plan.
If you hold account credit when you cancel — for example from an earlier plan downgrade — that credit is not refunded. It exists to be applied to future invoices, and cancelling means there are none. Spend it before you cancel if you want the value of it.
If you would like your account closed altogether, contact contact@builder-hut.com.
Where Paddle is the merchant of record, Paddle’s own buyer terms apply in addition to this policy: you may request a refund from Paddle within 14 days of a payment, and where Paddle grants one it is honoured regardless of what follows in this section. Nothing here removes that right.
Outside that window: because a permanent free plan is available before any payment, and each payment covers only the month ahead, subscription fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started.
Moving to a smaller plan is not a refund. It credits the unused part of the period you have paid for, and that credit reduces your next invoice — it is not returned to your card.
We will consider a refund where a charge was clearly made in error — a duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation was confirmed, or a charge on an account that could not be used because of a fault on our side. Ask us and we will look at it properly.
Where a refund is agreed, it is returned to the original payment method through whichever provider took the payment. Because Paddle is the merchant of record for payments it handles, a refund on those is processed by Paddle. The time it takes to appear on your statement is set by the provider and your bank, not by us.
AI credits are a consumable. Credits already spent cannot be refunded, because the underlying AI processing has been performed and paid for.
Unused credits bought through Paddle fall under the same 14-day buyer right described in section 4. Beyond that window, unused credits may be refunded at our discretion where the purchase was recent and clearly mistaken.
Credits do not expire while your account is active, and they cannot be transferred between accounts or exchanged for cash.
If you were charged more than once for the same thing, or charged for something that did not activate, contact us with the transaction reference and we will investigate and correct it.
If you dispute a charge with your bank, please contact us first — most problems are quicker to fix directly. We may suspend an account while a chargeback is open, and we may recover the amount and any associated fee before the account is restored.
Email contact@builder-hut.com with the account email, the transaction reference, the date, and what went wrong. We aim to respond within seven working days.

The developer portal has no subscription fee. The only thing you can buy here is AI credits, and this policy covers them.
Authoring templates on the developer portal is free. There is no recurring charge and therefore nothing to cancel.
AI credits are sold in packs, priced as shown before you buy, and charged at the time of purchase. Credits are added to your balance once the payment is confirmed, which is normally immediate.
